Envisage

Public Art

Envisage showcases our in-house design capabilities at One Hat One Hand. We created this sculpture for the main entrance to 1108 Main Street in Redwood City California. Located on the street side of the office building, the sculpture sits just outside of a bridge that spans over a creek at the entrance of the building.

Envisage welcomes visitors to the building with a sense of wonder and optimism. The transparent design allows the viewer to see the connections between humans and nature.  While we relate to the human form, we often tend to consider ourselves separate from nature. As one walks around the figure, the colors and shapes of the surrounding architecture and landscape are framed by the intricate structure of polygons.

Designed and fabricated by One Hat One Hand, this sculpture was developed through a series of processes, including sketches, models and even 3D scanning of a human model for inspiration and accuracy. The genderless form allows visitors to see themselves in the installation.

Welcome with wonder and optimism
