Street Rooms
Public Art
E.B. Min, Min Design Co.
In San Francisco’s Mission Rock neighborhood, The Garden Party is one of four “Street Rooms”—public installations designed for connection, whimsy, and rest. Created by Min Design and expertly fabricated in curved white metal by One Hat One Hand, the piece draws inspiration from Victorian conservatories and serves as functional art within the pedestrian-friendly, curbless streetscape.
This open, gazebo-like structure invites people to pause, sit, and engage with both the space and each other. It embodies CMG Landscape Architecture’s vision of street rooms as lively, inclusive spaces that blend art, architecture, and everyday use. Developed with contributions from small, women- and minority-owned firms, The Garden Party reflects Mission Rock’s commitment to community, sustainability, and thoughtful urban design.
