Public Art
Anton Morton and Pamela Zeljak
One Hat One Hand worked closely with artists Anton Morton and Pamela Zeljak to fabricate and install Traditions, a luminous sculptural installation at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center in Ft. Lauderdale.
This backlit, powder-coated stainless steel wall relief features three figures in perpetual motion, reflecting the dynamic energy of Caribbean folk dance. The figures are subtly overlaid with the topography of Lauderhill, grounding the piece in its community context.
The installation required innovative fabrication techniques to meet Florida Building Code and hurricane-resistant standards, ensuring durability and longevity. The final piece is designed to engage viewers both day and night, leveraging the center’s glass curtain walls to amplify its presence after dark.
